Frequently Asked Questions

We understand you may have questions if you haven't use our services before, hope this helps!

Do I need experience before I start?

No prior experience is needed. All our classes are gentle, adaptable and suitable for all levels including beginners.

I'm unfit, injured or have a health condition, is it safe for me?

Classes are designed to be adaptable and supportive. You can chat to us beforehand about any injuries or health conditions, so we can help guide you. If you need to check with your health practitioner before attending, download a letter here

When are the classes held?

Classes are held in the morning and early evening Monday to Friday.   You can view our current timetable before making a booking. Intakes open regularly to join for the upcoming terms

Will I be the oldest one in class?

Probably not, due to the pacing and structure of our classes we attract mostly older adults.  It’s yoga for grown-ups! We are passionately anti-ageist around here though, so all ages over 18 are welcome.

Can I try a class before I book for a term or program?

We prioritise term and program bookings as these often book out in advance.  A term gives you the best experience to see how it suits you over several classes and includes all the added extras like videos for home practice and a welcome pack. Casual bookings open once term begins and are strictly subject to space.

What if I need to go away or miss a class?

You can swap around and catch-up missed classes within the current term.  Term bookings include access to our live-streamed Zoom classes and prerecorded video library so you’ll never miss out

Is it easy to get to and park?

Parking is free, easy and abundant right outside the venue.  We recommend checking your booking confirmation email for exact location information or getting in touch if you’d like us to point you in the right direction.

What equipment do I need to have?

BYO yoga mat, blanket and water bottle, cushion or bolster is optional.  We can advise you the best style of yoga mat to buy or lend you one for the first few weeks. All other small equipment is provided for in person classes.  If you’re practicing at home, we recommend you get a yoga block and strap but you can also substitute things from around the home.

Are your teachers qualifed and experienced?

Yes, our teachers all exceed the recognised training level in Australia and hold professional registrations. We have over 100 years of experience between us over two decades in operation. More importantly, they are all-round awesome, kind humans that we know you will love.

Do you need to be tech savvy to join online?

Our online live-streamed classes are low-tech. If you have a mobile device, laptop or tablet with internet access and can click on a link, that’s pretty much it!   We use Zoom to which is a common platform, and you don’t need a paid Zoom account.

Does this sound familiar?

  • The thought of getting up and down off the floor feels like a technical planning mission and you want it to feel easy again

  • You're unsure if yoga is right or safe for you due to your health or old injuries but you want to improve your mobility.

  • Life is busy, you're doing everything for everyone else and not enough for yourself, so you do nothing, it's an ongoing cycle.

Don't worry, we can help!

About us

Hi, I'm Charley!

I started Charleyoga over two decades ago with a mission to make yoga easy and enjoyable for non-yoga people or anyone who finds yoga intimidating or inaccessible.

We exist to help people in not-so-new bodies who feel worn out, stiff and like life is leaving them behind go from feeling disconnected and stuck to feeling confident, reconnected & calm. All minus the pressure and intensity. Old trackies welcome here!
